| Merry Christmas Dear Ryan,

Great Jobsite Experience
This month's good story comes from the Wilson Wine Room Project Located in Teton Springs Victor, ID. We were fortunate enough to build a beautiful wine storage room for a past client. The design for this project was by Doug Rey from Douglas Cabinets and it turned out amazing. The design and construction of the room far exceeded the expectations of the owner. As we all know having a good design is one thing but trying to execute it is another. Jared Taylor with Taylor'D Electric came up on the last day of our schedule and worked late (during hunting season) to complete the project. It would have been easy for him to bang it out but he spent the extra time to make it look just right. Instead of just trimming out the electrical boxes that were located in a stone wainscot he pulled out his grinder. With some determination he was able to scribe the stone and allow all the electrical cover plates to sit in the stone nice and clean. This extra work that was done by Jared helped make the project a success. Items such as this are what set our projects apart from others and we appreciate all of your efforts such as Jared's. | "Punchlist Schedule"
As many of you are aware the completion of any project is sometimes the hardest and most time consuming part. Quality of material and craftsmanship in our projects are of the most importance to B&B. For this reason we have scheduled time on each project to complete punchlists. At the end of the project B&B will do a "Punchlist Walk". We will be doing a final quality check as well as verifying that correct items were installed and working properly. Upon completion of this "Walk" each subcontractor will be notified. At the beginning of the project there will be two weeks scheduled for this punchlist. Don't wait until the last day to complete your punchlist, you may need parts you don't know about. B&B will be available to help facilitate any work being done during this punchlist time. After this two week period you will be charged for B&B's time to manage and verify the completion of your work.
Prior to the "Punchlist Walk" you should have visited the job and can assure us that your work is 100%. This will be a final quality check not a list of incomplete items such as: *Missing clean out covers in cabinets
*Install all cabinet hardware and adjust doors *Seal tops and bottoms of all doors *Trim out elec outlets in storage room This will minimize items the owner requests once they do their final walk of the home. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us. |
Review of Pay App Process
In our last Newsletter we reviewed our Pay App process and expressed our concerns. As a follow up we continue to have many problems with this process. In the last 2 months half of the invoices submitted did not have a Pay App form (these are always required of anyone doing any type of work on site). Many times our office has called multiple times requesting these Pay App forms with no response from the company. If B&B does not receive a Pay App form with your invoice it will not be submitted for billing to the owners until that form is submitted. This means it will miss that months billing if the form is later than the 20th. Many of these Pay App forms have incorrect numbers and don't match up with prior month forms. Make sure you are keeping copies of your prior forms for reference and checking your numbers. Please review the August Newsletter (Aug 2009 Newsletter for further information on this process. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to call Heather at our office to help you with these items. |
